Wereld Missie Hulp celebrates its 30th anniversary

Wereld Missie Hulp (in English: World Mission Help, WMH), a Belgian non-profit organization and partner of Fracarita International, celebrates its 30th anniversary on April 24, 2016. On the agenda: a book presentation, a big birthday party and some conferences.

Link between Fracarita International and WMH

Wereld Missie Hulp is an important partner of Fracarita International for several years. In recent history, Wereld Missie Hulp supported the water project of the Saint Cornelius Mental Health Centre Kasaka in Tanzania and the chicken project of the Gefersa Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre (GMHF) in Ethiopia. A lot of other centres also received (financial) support by WMH.

Book presentation

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the NGO presented the book ‘Dienstbaarheid in de praktijk’ (in English: ‘Complaisance in practice’) on a symposium in Leuven, Belgium, on Monday 21 March 2016. Fracarita International was present at this symposium. In this book, some experts analyze relevant themes: the history of the mission help, complaisance, poverty and spirituality. Find out more about this book here (in Dutch).

Conferences

WMH planned three conferences about ecology:

  • 23 May 2016: Egbert Rooze: ecology and creation

  • 19 September 2016: Johan De Tavernier: ecology and the catholic church

  • 14 November 2016: Jacques Haers: ecology and poverty

All conferences will take place in Provinciesteenweg 400, 2530 Boechout at 8.00 P.M. for the democratic price of € 5. More information here.
