School for the Deaf and Centre for Audiology and Speech

 

This primary school, affiliated to the Catholic University of Tanzania, campus Tabora, focuses on underprivileged children suffering from an auditory disability. It was the first school for deaf children in Tanzania and still is the only school using the oral method. The Brothers of Charity have been active in this school since 1994. In addition to the primary school, there is also an auditory centre where hearing tests for both children as well as adults are performed and it also provides advice and guidance on hearing aids. Furthermore, the centre carries out technical inspections etc.
