Sheltered Home Bangwe

In this sheltered home mentally disabled children receive the elementary care they need (food, medical care, a safe place to sleep, etc) and participate in activities focused on their social rehabilitation. The presence of other street children in the centre, and even some elderly people, helps them to develop their social skills and integrate into society. Since education is a universal right, the children and adolescents from the Sheltered Home Bangwe are taught in a special classroom of the nearby primary school each day, the focus here is aimed at improving their intellectual and practical skills. With the support of 'Geelse Ontwikkelingssamenwerking'.
