Luc De Schepper, co-worker of Fracarita International, passed away

Luc De Schepper, staff member of Fracarita International in Bruges, passed away in Ghent on Monday 14 August 2017 after a long illness of almost two years. Since 1 October 2014, Luc was employed as a fundraiser of Fracarita International. Later on, from January 2015, he became the coordinator of Fracarita International. Since September 2015, he was on sick leave.

We deeply regret that we as Brothers of Charity and as Fracarita International lose Luc who was a dedicated co-worker who always gave himself totally for his duty for the sake of people in need. He worked his whole professional life for people with mental illness, which started first as co-worker. For some time, he was a staff member of the organisation ‘Provincialate of the Brothers of Charity’, later on as general manager of the Psychiatric Center Dr. Guislain in Ghent. He worked tirelessly in these different positions to improve the quality of life of people with mental illness.

Luc will be remembered as a person of deep belief as a Christian, consequently working in the line of the Charism of the Congregation of the Brothers of Charity where he was an associate member of.

His funeral takes place on Saturday 19 August 2017 in his local parish church O.L.Vrouw Hemelvaart in Ertvelde, near Ghent. May he rest in peace.
