Orthopedagogical Institute Manila

Due to the positive efforts of the Belgian NGO Fracarita Belgium during their annual South Action campaign in 2003, the buildings of this day-care centre for children with a mental disability in the capital Manila have been thoroughly renovated. Approximately 28 children from the surrounding slum areas attend on a daily basis.
This centre offers a unique learning experience to children with special needs. The curricular programme subscribes itself to mandate the K-12 curriculum. Half of the programme was modified to the Belgian curriculum.

The centre caters to different kinds of disabilities such as children with autism, Down syndrome, global developmental delays, learning disability, etc. The teachers and staffs are highly trained educators and mature Roman Catholics.

On the whole, this centre is committed to educate students who happen to be slow towards self-independence and self-reliance.
