United Nations

As international NGO, Fracarita International aims to give a voice to the voiceless by advocating at international forums where social policy is shaped. Fracarita International is actively involved in specific councils and conferences at United Nations-level, especially in the field of mental health care:  

  • Fracarita International has a special consultative status in the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.

  • The organization is member of CoNGO (The Conference of NGO's in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations) and participates in the Committee on Mental Health.​

Sustainable Development Goals

Fracarita International endorses the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda 2015-2030 with a specific focus on the following goals:

  • No poverty

 

  • Good health

 

  • Quality education

 

  • Peace and justice

 

  • Partnerships for the goals

2015: International Advocacy of Fracarita International at the United Nations

Fracarita International participated at the High-Level Political Forum ‘From Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the United Nations Headquarters in New York City in July 2015. Find out more

2014: Symposium with UNICEF

On October 10th 2014, World Mental Health Day, Fracarita International organized a symposium on the impact of armed conflict on the mental health and psychosocial well-being of affected populations, with a specific focus on children in the Central African Republic. The symposium was organized in collaboration with UNICEF. Read more

2008: DPI/NGO Conference

The president of Fracarita International, Bro. dr. René Stockman, was invited to speak at the opening session of the UN's annual DPI/NGO Conference in 2008. He addressed the situation of mental health care in the world. Read more
